NV Cockburn Special Reserve

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Modest red, with some purple tone. Subdued on the nose, very herbal mixed with the sweet smell of rotting fruit. Medium-bodied, with baked red fruit on the palate and a nice balancing acidity. Gentle tannins, ripe fruit mix nicely. Acidic bramble fruit make a bold statement on the aftertaste before giving way to a lingering dry cocoa finish. A very enjoyable ruby reserve. 85/100. 05-Jan-13. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
