1968 Niepoort colheita, bottled 1979
Oscar visited London, so the team sampled some VPs and some stuff described as ‟brown sticky stuff”. Some were served sighted, some were blind.

Ni68c bot ’79, brought by THRA standing in for RMW. I noted only ‟pineapple, soft, lovely”.

Bottled 1979. Pale honey colour, clear rim. Honey and faint golden syrup on the nose. Brown sugar impact but with a honey layer developing and dominating until a nice coffee tone appears. Very interesting palate. Fine aftertaste and a long finish. Delicate and balanced. 89/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
