1924 Ramos Pinto

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Ex-cellars. Amber in colour, 10% opaque. Nosing of rosemary, very old and oxidised. Gentle entry, soft and well balanced texture with lots of rosemary on the palate but also a surprising amount of sweetness. Soft flavours on the finish, lingering rosemary and a good length. A lovely elegant wine, but past its peak. 87/100. Tasted at the BFT on 24 April 2013.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
