1997 Ramos Pinto vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Young red colour, with just a hint of bricking on the rim. Still youthful on the nose with lots of fruit. Lots of fruit on the palate too, softened a little with age and surprisingly approachable. Lots of fruit backed up with round, ripe tannins and a fine aftertaste. This has more fruit than the 1994! A great elegant style of port. 92/100. Tasted at the BFT on 24 April 2013.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
