NV Quevedo Tawny 40YO (bottled 2012)

Post by jdaw1 »

Oscar visited London, so the team sampled some VPs and some stuff described as ‟brown sticky stuff”. Some were served sighted, some were blind.

Qv40Y: from memory no note taken soft and lovely, though light.

Bottled 2012. Deep brown in colour, with just a hint of green on the rim. Burnt toast and sweet dates on the nose. Deep flavour, intense and full of acidity. A big palate presence, very intense and with a concentrated finish of huge length. This is a very big port. 94/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
