1991 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by g-man »

Lovely nose of red plums, crushed bark spices and nice oaky nose.

The taste unfortunately hides alot of the fruit and it's quite spirity. Notes of licorice, noticeable tannins raw cocoa beans, bitter with a hint of sweetness that finishes like an aged bourbon.

88-89 right now

needs alot more decanting then pop and pour

Sweet candied plum nose with allspice

Found the V96 progressively more exciting on days 2 and 3 also.. a whole range of flavours coming out. My broccoli comment is probably a bit misleading, but it's definitely something green and full of iron.
