2005 Chateau Palmer, Margaux

53% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot, 7% petit verdot. Very dark and intense in colour ”“ still 90% opaque. More subdued on the nose than the younger wines, but still warm and attractive with sweet fruit and cloves. Luscious satin texture on the palate with terrific development; a fabulous palate presence ”“ sweet, ripe and complex. Wow! Dry tannins appear on the aftertaste and generate a fabulous finish. Stunningly good. Drink now or in 20 years. 97/100.
