2011 Kopke

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Black licorice and blackcurrants on the nose, mixing fuit with spice in an attractive manner. A little subdued on entry with the fruit arriving after the fierce acidity. The finish is built around sour cherry fruit. Probably a long lived port given the levels of apparent dominating fruit acidity. 87-89. Tasted over 1-4 days as part of the extended 2011 tasting.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
