2011 Smith Woodhouse

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Faint on the nose, a little minty fruit. Wonderful texture on the palate, very smooth and luscious. The fruit arrives before the tannins with most of the structure coming from the acidity. The aftertaste is long and cedary. Nicely balanced port. 90-92. Tasted over 1-4 days as part of the extended 2011 tasting.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
