1982 Warre LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Traditional bottle matured LBV, bottled in 1986. Cork branded "Warres vintage 1982 bottled 1986". Decanted very cleanly off a modest amount of sediment. Ex-cellars in 2012.

Rich brick red colour, 50% opaque. Sweet nose, dusty and full of rose-hips. Sweet, ripe fruit concentrates on the palate, bringing a richness across the palate that has good depth and decent complexity. The richness and dustiness of the fruit shows on the aftertaste and finish. Rich and sweet, slightly lacking in complexity but with a good richness and palate presence. 89/100. Drunk 07-Sep-13 with a 1 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
