2004 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

1,000 cases declared. Deep red with a hint of plum purple on the narrow transparent rim. Astringent nose showing some reductive tones and rubber bands. Lightweight entry, delicately flavoured, floral and elegant. The fruit apepars eventually alongside searing acidity. Little tannic structrue obvious initially but it reveals itself in time. Big aftertaste and a huge finish. Wonderful lingering elegance that eventually reveals a delicious chocolate and sour cherry. Very good port. 93/100. Drunk 16-Sep-13
