From magnum. Deep red, very rich appearance; the colour of mature Burgundy. Spicy and vibrant on the nose, cinammon and black cherries. Sweet fruit all over the entry to the palate with lots of gentle black licorice. Dense and full bodied but so smooth. Very rich on the palate. A touch of cherry cough sweets on the aftertaste, a bit of heat then a long, long finish of dense cherry stones. Absolutely delicious. 95/100. Drunk 25-Sep-13. Decanted 5 hours
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

G70, magnum: glorious red, pink at edge, 40% opaque. Taste showed strong white pepper, with red plums behind. Lasts wonderfully, very very long, leaving raspberries for several minutes. Wonderful port. WOTN, by general acclaim.

And, better and better, it came in a handy 150cl quality-control trial size.

Prunes and dates on the nose. Tasted of silky and smooth jam. Long aftertaste. Very good port
