2003 Churchill vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mid-red colour, red rim and opaque centre. Bottle stink on the nose. Thin entry and an acidic attack, tannins dominate the thin fruit. Big and chewy finish, full of tannin. Overall this feels unbalanced and cannot be a representative bottle. Whether this was representative or not was asked of the people manning the table, but Johnny Graham was elsewhere so the answers were vague. Not rated.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

This doesn't appear to have a good reputation...
