2000 Niepoort

Post by djewesbury »

We held our second 'Port of Belfast' event in a room at the Lyric Theatre. We were very pleased to be able to host a tutored tasting of Niepoort wines and ports with Nick Delaforce.

Ni00, full bottle, at d+2 hr.Dark red, 90% opaque. Nose fill of dark berries, though slightly closed. Taste also, lots of dark berries, and heat mid palate. Rather closed, but will open vey nicely given five years in a cellar. Will be very good.

This was again fruity and floral, but the fruit was shying away in comparison to the half-bottle tasted alongside.
