Popped, double decanted and poured.
90%, purple, black core, v. thin pink rim.
Wonderful nose like rich young VP. Crisp green or russet apples. Lovely, lively acid. Yes, black cherries and blackcurrants, but with firm green structure through it, a tightness like Vesuvio. And masses of flowers.
In the mouth, straight away some sharpness from young fruit, black chewiness, some heat, malic acid giving structure and green bitterness. Finish is good, quite long, bringing lots of developing acidity and greenness, also undertones of burnt honeycomb or Dime bar. This feels like it'll be excellent in another few years, tastes very much like it has the will to age well. Very fine.
