1982 Warre LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 1986, bottle matured. Deep rich red, looking to be mature. Lovely soft texture on the palate, with sweet Christmas mincemeat and a delicious caramel core. Firm acidity balances the sweetness of the fruit and the tannins are fully integrated. The warm sweetness continues through the aftertaste and the generous finish. This is very more-ish and a very enjoyable port. Great value for money @ £15 per bottle. 88/100. Decanted 1 hour. Drunk 25 Mar 2014.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
