I think we will not be needing any uisce beatha after tonight…
2 x GC, V &
† (half bottle) decanted between 8.00 and 8.45 am.
† - Staining around the selo and crust on the mouth but the cork was intact. Smell of alcohol but fruit also.
GC 85 - This was the easiest. Cork in one piece, sound, no very fine sediment (though maybe I just didn't bother to look closely enough).
GC 94 - Cork almost entirely clean; spun a little in the neck but came out in one piece eventually. In fact it looked new. But branded 1994 at the top. Lots of fine sediment, double decanted through a tea filter (thanks to AW77).
V 96 - Unexpectedly, this cork broke. It stuck to the sides, and I only steamed it once I'd already done most of the damage. But by pulling instead of screwing (…) I got it nearly all out. Also double decanted through a tea filter. Took aeons.
