2007 Fonseca

Grassy, fresh and aromatic fruit on the nose, lifted and inviting and - surprisingly - slightly more minty than the Taylor. Wonderful rounded texture, with lush fruit and very big tannins that combine to give a wonderful palate marred only slightly by the spirit that still shows through (although more time should allow this to integrate fully). The spirit tingles the lips on the finish. Big and sticky fruit with a greeness to the tannins on the finish. A promising port, but difficult to predict where this will be in the future. 92/100. Drunk 14-May-14
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
