2011 Dalva

Deeply coloured, with a purple hint and a medium transparent rim. The scent leaps out of the glass, lovely ripe fruit and the green herbaceous twist to the fruit that is characteristic of the vintage. Soft, silky texture; masses of sweet blackcurrants then slowly the powerful tannins emerge under the fruit and comes with a big palate presence. Tannin dominated aftertaste and finish, lots of bramble fruit and slightly green tannins. Fine port. 93-95/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
