1992 Niepoort LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 1996. Deep red centre with a rose edge; 90% opaque. Attractive on the nose, with soft fruit that is poised on entry. Lovely fruit-led mid-palate with the tannins showing, but dropping back quickly. Nice soft acidity supporting a sweet strawberry jam aftertaste and finish that retains a lingering presence. 85/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT2.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

About 50% opaque. This has a quiet nose. Dry, tight, bitterness and rosemary, with a dry and crisp finish. Very nice.
