2000 Ramos Pinto

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Firm red colour with a slight copper tone; 90% opaque. Very pleasant nose, soft fruit gently stewed in syrup - odd balance on entry; golden syrup and stewed plums before a huge wave of tannins but the fruit never wavers. Powerful acidity. A big, fruity chewy aftertaste. Lovely components, still very youthful and in need of more time to recover its balance. Lots of potential. 93/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
