1983 Ramos Pinto

Post by flash_uk »

Tasted on A visit to New York.

Decanted 30 minutes. 70% opacity, rich purple. Nose of chocolate with some liquorice at the back. Velvet in the mouth, more chocolate, great balance and lovely lingering finish. Great drinking now, great drinking for the future I would reckon. Have now added this to my buy list. My WOTN - this is just what I like, some sugar sweetness balanced by some alcohol and acidity, but overall very rounded and with length.

An under-regarded bottling for sure. I have been very impressed every time I have had the opportunity to try this.

I loved this in the one instance I've tried it. Was my WOTN in that tasting.
