1994 Croft

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep mature red, wide transparent rim but still opaque in the centre. Slightly sour nose, complex and with multiple layers dominated by vibrant red fruit. Hollow entry, the fruit arrives gently and is still in the early stages of maturity. This gradually grows to be a goo dmouthful well balanced by generous acidity and hints of tannins. The late palate is big and fine. Lovely fruity aftertaste, a fruit driven finish with wonderful ripe tannins and spice. This is a lovely port that can be drunk now but will be better in 10-20 years. 91/100. Drunk 03-Jun-14.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
