2002 Croft Roeda

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Firm red colour with little bricking; opaque. Subdued nose showing little, perhaps a bit of green herbaceousness. A nice texture on the palate, little fruit initially but patience allows the palate to develop nicely. The tannins are firm, the fruit is lush and attractive. A big aftertaste and a fruit-chew driven finish. Lovely port - the fruit is lush enough for this to drink now but will be a better port with a further 10-20 years in the cellar. 88/100. Drunk 03-Jun-14.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
