1882 Graham Ne Oublie

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From a 50ml sample bottle tasted at the Portuguese launch of the Ne Oublie port. Rich, dark amber in colour with a golden rim. A powerful nose of complex sweet balsamic vinegar. Thick in texture with sweet mandarin and other citrus fruits. Wonderful complex layering of flavours and balancing acidity that offsets the sweetness of the wine perfectly. A tingle of what feels like tannins shows briefly on the aftertaste before a long bitter-sweet concentrated dark orange marmalade finish of great length. Delicious port that is a snapshot of history. 96/100. Drunk 25-Jun-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
