RPE94 decanted 10:00. Cork slightly soft but extracted whole, and, like the RP94, printed Ramos-Pinto 1994. With hyphen; no mention of the quinta.

Bright red, 30% opaque. Faint nose, sweet, red berries. Palate slightly bitter, and simpler than the RP97. Good length.

80% opacity, dark red. Not much on the nose, or at least, few notes taken. In the mouth, simple, some fruit, dry and tannic finish.

Ramos Pinto. Mature red, but at the young end of maturity. A delicious nose of attractive fruit and fresh red berries. Lovely fruit with plenty of firm tannins, a decent if rather restrained volume of fruit. The tannins are well defined and still vigorous. Tannic, slightly green aftertaste and a full finish of green bell pepper. 85/100. Drunk 21-Oct-14. Decanted 11½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
