RP91, decanted 13:00. Red, 70% opaque, so palest of the ≥1980 RPs. Nose horrible. Not tasted.

Decanted 6 hours. 60% opacity, cloudy red. Dirty stewey nose. Very little body or substance, balanced but thin. Faulty some way or other.

Light, 40-50% ruby. A good young nose, not too cloying but some fruit sweetness (light jam). Very jellyish with a bitter tip at the end, some faint, lingering dryness.

Slightly hazy appearance with lots of sediment in the bottom of the glass. Mature, sweet fruit nose with a lovely dusty bramble and later a streak of lemon juice. Rather hollow entry, quite lightweight on the palate with a little charcoal and bubblegum fruit. The late palate does develop some good fruit but this is not up to the quality of the 1985. A very uneven port. 86/100. Drunk 21-Oct-14. Decanted 8½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
