On Wednesday 29th October 2014 some obvious suspects (JDAW, DRT, MPM, THRA, IDJ, BMHR, RLC) gathered to test the Board Room in Davy’s at Plantation Place (Mincing Lane EC3R 7BD, +44 20 7621 9878, streetmap.co.uk, maps.google.co.uk, bing.com).
Recalling that we held a small vertical of Croft at The Bung Hole on Monday 16th January 2012, originally for the purpose of testing the then-new location (planning and arrangements, review of the evening as a whole), this Croft theme was repeated.

Re: 1927 Croft
Decanted 10 minutes. 20% opacity, cloudy tan brown. Dirty nose, a bit dusty and slightly spirituous, but behind this some spice, cinnamon. Hot entry, a sugary mouthfeel but strangely not so sweet. Quite quick to a sharp finish on the palate. Superb long aftertaste of oranges.
30 minutes later, the nose had improved immeasurably - thick tangerine and toffee. And in the mouth now sweet and orangey with that long long aftertaste.
I liked this a lot. Very drinkable for me.

Cr27. Cloudy coral colour; nose very aged. At D+0 palate very acidic, with a hint of fruit — citrus perhaps — but acid dominating. Well, I can be bleary first thing in the morning. And it was improved by time, by D+30mins the early palate become much softer, but the acidity showing mid to late. There might have been cherries.
