1994 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

The bottle from Panascal was not finished on the day, with some being taken to O Paparico to share with Glenn Eliott. Dark red, intense and opaque. Delightful perfumed nose, lovely tones and complexity. Gorgeous texture, really smooth like Egyptian cotton. Concentrated fruit, fragrant cherry and powerful tannins. Massive palate presence, hugely punishing. A massive finish, big and powerful. Complex and fabulous port that will become a legend. 97/100. Drunk 26-Sep-14. Decanted 36 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
