1863 Taylor Colheita (bottled 2013)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2013. Beep brown in colour, 90% opaque and darker than the Scion shown alongside. Big and powerful on the nose, full of rich beef bouillion. Bold and concentrated on the palate, dense and sweet with a lovely acidity. Concentrated orange and molasses flavours that deliver a huge presence. A wonderful aftertaste that explodes in the mouth. Some dryness to the start of the finish. A lovely intense port. Chosen by Beatriz Machado, Wine Director at the Yeatman. 97/100. Drunk 26-Sep-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
