1994 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red and intense in colour, opaque. A floral nose with lots of perfume, very attractive. Soft, round and sweet fruit on the palate. Tannins arrive eventually and deliver some support and zing to the big, round and sweet fruit. A quick flash of heat then a massive fruit driven finish. I was so engrossed by this port I forgot to score it but it was exceedingly good! NR. Drunk 25-Sep-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

F94. Damson jam, with big grip. Some coffee. Tannin. Slight acidity.
