2011 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red rim and a black core. Tight nose, very floral and the typical 2011 herbaceousness over the fruit. Fabulous singing fruit on the palate, with great elegance. Crunching tannins grip in the second wave of palate flavours led by burnt coffee. Lovely ripe tannins drive the fruit-forward finish. Stunning length. This is a beautiful and complete wine that is powerful yet elegant. Great port that has now recovered from bottling and is showing its true potential. 97/100. Drunk 24-Sep-14. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

N11. Soft fruit. Lighter than the NN11. Some heat mid palate.
