2008 Quinta do Noval LBV (Single Vineyard)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled unfiltered in 2012. Deep red, purple tone; opaque on the centre but just transparent on the edge. Fragrant and grassy on the nose, a scent which leaps out of the glass. The entry is slow and hesitant to arrive, but delivers a round and flavoursome palate full of fruit. The structure is delightful with ripe tannins and long acidity that combine with the fruit to deliver a really fine palate. Big and chewy on the finish with terrific length. 91/100. Drunk 24-Sep-14. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
