2011 Quinta do Noval Nacional

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red with a purple rim. Subdued on the nose, some fruit that is nicely balanced and attractive. Smooth texture full of ripe fruit and massive tannins that grip powerful, shift position and then grip even more firmly. Complex and multi-layered on the palate. One of the biggest finishes that I have ever experienced in a young port. Brutal but so beautiful. 99/100. Drunk 24-Sep-14. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

NN11. Big velvet. Some heat and acidity, and lots of fruit, all until the end. Big velvet.
