2008 Quinta de la Rosa LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2012. Deep scarlet in colour, 95% opaque. Slightly cheesy on the nose, a cheesiness which comes through on the light bodied palate that is dominated by the tannins before the fruit makes its appearance. This lacks the balance and depth of any of the other ports shown at this tasting. 82/100.

The review thread contains a list of all the ports on show at the 2014 Berry Brothers Port Walk.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

My notes just say this: not filtered, good, mineral, cherry in the nose and the mouth
The Eleventh Commandment: Thou shalt know thy Port
