1994 Tesco

Post by flash_uk »

Decanted 3 hours. 70% opacity, dark red, slight clouding. Nose of ripe black fruit, hints of chocolate, peppery. Quite a dull nose, certainly not fresh and sharp. Full mouthfeel, heavy fruit and lots of pepper and spice - maybe paprika? Little by way of acidity and then quite a tannic finish but little aftertaste. Nothing special this one. The lack of acidity leaves it quite flat.

I had a few glasses of this last night, I too found it a dull let down. As Caitlin Moran said of Lord Coe at the closing of the Olympics; 'he's trying to bore the flame out'. Probably a bit unfair to drink this after that Dow 77.
