1983 Dow

Post by jdaw1 »

A fantastic Lunch, on Sunday 15th February 2015, at Simpson’s-in-the-Strand, Chris Doty providing the bottles blind.

This is bottle II, later revealed to be 1983 Dow.

D83. Lovely edge-of-mature red, maybe 60% opaque. Palate, I wrote, was “Soft red fruit. Mouth-filling red cherry. Lovely 1985ish bright freshness”. Except that it wasn’t 1985ish.

I think you can have a fraction of a point for 1985-ish, if you meant it in the sense that it was 1985 +/- 2 years ;-)
