2011 Alves de Sousa

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Such a deep purple as to be almost black, narrow transparent rim. Slightly cheesey on the nose with the alcohol protruding. Still full of young and primary blueberry. Pure fruit juice entry, rich and lush. Huge levels of beautiful fruit, yet with big and powerful tannins hidden by the clean and perfect fruit. The fruit driven finish is long and delicious. 94/100. Tasted 5 Mar 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Very much enjoyed this port. I have one left.
