1985 Churchill

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red colour, still very youthful appearance, dark red rim and opaque centre. Deep and rich nose, red cherries and a touch of licorice. Powerful palate, a large dose of fruit with charcoal dry tannins. A slight hint of VA delivers a touch of candiness. The aftertaste is big, chewy and dominated by the long, fruit finish. Delicious current drinking and in no hurry to be finished. Very tasty. 89/100. Drunk 01-Mar-15. Decanted 7 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
