2010 Dalva LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2015. Deep red with tones of scarlet rather than purple; medium width rim. Soft and restrained on the nose showing gentle ripe fruit. Lovely enveloping fruit on the palate, sweet blackcurrants and a hint of rock rose. Nice floral complexity offsets well the tannins that have a good grip. There is a slight acidic fierceness to the aftertaste before the long chewy blackcurrant finish kicks in. Nice LBV. 90/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
