Post by jdaw1 »

Just three of us, CPR, THRA and JDAW, met in the Green Room of The Boot & Flogger for a tasting with the theme ‘Blind with a clue’.

D60. Blind, with the clue “the most frequently seen VP at TPF tastings”. So I wrote down F85. Then I looked at the colour, brown 30% opaque, and decided not F85. New in the glass the acidity was too prominent, as was the heat, and I thought it over-the-hill. But then it relaxed, settling down into a comfortable rich old man role, smooth and charming, and with hints of former richness. And — breaking the analogy — great balance.

My guess of Dow 1963 wasn’t as shameful as many of my guesses over the years.
