2004 Croft LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep cherry red, opaque. Muted nose, slightly sulphurous. Modest body, gentle cherry fruit and some bitter dark chocolate tannins; slowly this resolves into an elegant and balanced medium-weight port. A slight dose of acidity on the aftertaste before a long and very fine finish. 87/100. Drunk 12-Apr-15. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
