1977 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Rose red in colour, mature appearance but surprisingly pale at only 30% opaque. Delicate and fragrant nose with sweet candied fruit and a touch of earthiness. Round and sweet fruit on entry with lots of it. Accompanying the fruit are some soft, dry charcoal tannins. There is a lovely lightness to the palate, it is balanced and has the Warre elegance. There is a wonderful aftertaste and a very long, elegant, sweet and fruity finish. This really is rather nice and is drinking beautifully now. 94/100. Drunk 23-Apr-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
