On Saturday 9th May 2015 we had a splendid horizontal of 1945 in The RAF Club, ably arranged by Axel Probst/WorldOfPort.de.

Bottled in 1945 to celebrate the centenary of Andresen. Golden straw colour, slightly cloudy; 30% opaque. Sour lime and green sugar cane on the nose, rather harsh. Coffee on the early palate and through to the mid palate. A nice acidity keeps the port fresh on the palate and gives a good length. A spicy aftertaste, then a rather sticky golden syrup finish with lots of burnt coffee. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Andresen 10yo tawny (bottled 1945), but presented blind. Tawny colour, 30% opaque. Palate very hot, smooth and very tawny. The heat having passed, charming and pleasant.

Mis-guessed to be a 30Y tawny.
