2013 O Port Unidade
On Saturday 9th May 2015 we had a splendid horizontal of 1945 in The RAF Club, ably arranged by Axel Probst/WorldOfPort.de.

(Cask sample). Axel's project, approved by the IVDP as vintage port a few days ago. Bright scarlet, opaque, no rim. Blackcurrant nose cut with a green apple acidity. Acidity shows immediately on the palate, ripe and toasted. On the mid-palate the sweet blackcurrant comes through with a delightful floral element. Nicely balanced with gentle tannins and generous fruit. The apple acidity shows on the aftertaste and gives way to a delicious, fruit-laden finish full of milk chocolate. A very elegant style, delicate and feminine. 90-92/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I have only had five 1945's in my life.
