On Saturday 9th May 2015 we had a splendid horizontal of 1945 in The RAF Club, ably arranged by Axel Probst/WorldOfPort.de.

Mid red, mature in colour, 40% opaque. Delicate and fragrant nose, quite powerful. Concentrated and fruity palate, gentle flavours with a good presence, fine acidity and still a touch of tannin. Powerful acidity on the aftertaste, before a very persistent and concentrated finish of terrific length. Really lovely port. 92/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

RV45. Mature red, 30% opaque. Palate of red-fruited candy, then sweetness. Long. Lovely mature Port.
