1998 Warre Cavadinha

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A second bottle opened to replace the previous spoiled bottle. Brick red in colour, 90% opaque. Baked fruit on the nose, full of stewed rhubarb. Sweet brown sugar sweetened fruit on the palate. On the mid-palate the tannins show gently but are persistent. There is a gentle balance on the finish. This is a mid-weight port, slightly on the light side but it is drinking well now and will likely continue to do so for another 10-20 years. 86/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
