2013 Fonseca Guimaraens

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Modest purple in colour, with a distinct tone of red in the colour. Powerful nose of crushed nettles and dock leaves that absolutely leaps from the glass and is really attractive. On the palate this is sweet and full of dense and exuberant fruit. This has a very impressive palate with a wonderful combination of sweet, concentrated fruit and powerful tannins. A lovely tannic aftertaste that leads to a long and fragrant finish. Really impressive. 94-96/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
