2011 Niepoort LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2015. Deep red, bordering on scarlet at the rim. Opaque centre. Fresh blackcurrant nose of an exuberant and youthful port. A big mouthful of fruit, slightly perfumed by hints of aniseed and big, powerful tannins. A lovely fruity aftertaste and finish that is concentrated and persistent. A great LBV capable of aging and improving for 30 years. 89/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
