2001 Quinta do Noval Silval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red, 90% opaque on the centre but with a transparent rim. No purple, no bricking. Fresh fruit and flowers show on the subdued but lively nose. Sweet fruit, mostly black- and redcurrants, soft and fairly light on the palate. A touch watery but rescued by the soft tannins. Fragrant and lightweight. Fragrant finish of good length, even if a little subdued. Gentle and light port. 86/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
